We should really make a pinned thread regarding this topic...

Ok, here's how to get an image on the Trolls board.

1. You first need to get your image on the Internet. The easiest way to do this is to sign up for a free Flickr account at http://www.flickr.com.

2. Upload your image to your flickr account. Once it is uploaded, get the URL (web address) of that image. It would be something like this http://www.flickr.com/photos/youraccount/1234567/

3. Start to type a reply to a post, or create a new post. Above the box that you type in are a series of buttons. They read B i u Quote Code, etc. The second to last is Img. When you reach the point in your post where you want an image, click on the Img button. This will generate a beginning image tag that looks like this [ img ]. Now, copy and paste the link to your image. Finally, click the Img button again to get the end image tag that looks like this [ /img ]. When finished it will look like this:

[ img ]http://www.flickr.com/photos/youraccount/1234567/[ /img ]

4. With the link to your image surrounded by the beginning and ending Img tags your image will now show up in your post when you click on the Submit button.

Has anyone figured out a way to resize big photos in the coding here? So that they appear smaller on the page, but not lower res?

I think, with the new board, people can actually upload photos to the board. It looks like this is going on.
Below the box in which you type content is a box that says "File name." Experiment with that. I think it works.

Very handy, especially since we won't have to worry over as many broken image links in the future.

Please, when possible, in threads that involve links (ebay, especially, though not solely), download the photos and text, and then post them in the thread. It makes the site more valuable as a reference archive. Ebay links disappear very quickly.

A little below the area where you type in a post, you will see a blue bar that reads "Upload attachment." Click "Browse", select a file, "Add the File", then "Submit."

I don't know from the legal ramifications of doing this sort of thing, but we can always remove specific pages if they are a problem.

For an example, see what I did here:
