Lately I have noticed a bit of crispiness creeping into my playback setup on my lathe.
The tone arm is a Shure SME that was sold to me along with the lathe.
The current cart is a Stanton 681EEE "Calibration Standard"
I have no idea of the age since it came with the lathe.
I swapped it out for an Audio Technica cart and the sizzle is gone, but the AT cart seems to put out a lower signal level.
My two questions are:
Do carts wear out over time?
What are the rest of you guys using for your test cut cart?
Looking for a new Cart for my SME tone arm.

I realize that this info was covered in another post from late last year, but since this is a new category for the forum, I thought it was OK to cover this ground again.
If you guys want to move the old thread over here and delete this one, I understand.
