Amplifiers and Speakers!

Turntables, tonearms, preamps, amps, cables, monitor speakers. What do you use to play back your one-off dubplates or pressed records? (related topics, too.)

I have a super rare Acrosound Stereo 120 Ultralinear tube amp plus an Acrosound S-1001 tube preamp togheter restored completely.
Are simply wonderful.
The amp mount two TO-600A output transformers with 4 KT77.
About speakers I have a couple of rare italian speakers - 3way -, the brand is Milani, that was an important factory in North-East Italy near the Udine city.
About turntable I have a Dual 1009 completely restored and personalized in a wonderful plinth built from me. Now the Dual is completely manual, not automatic. I had removed all mechanisms. The cartridge is a Pickering new old stock, model V15 MICRO IV ACE. It sound good for me, but perhaps there is a limit on high frequences ( max. 17000 Hz ). Then the motor of Dual is a type high torque ( I don't know the exact value of torque ), in fact was the same type that was mounted on Dual C901 autoreverse cassette recorder !
Only the plate of Dual weight 3,2 kg !

Greetings to all.
Raffaello.

The Dual brand is actually still alive! They went bankrupt, but someone bought machines, remaining parts etc. and revived it.

It's here in the black forest a few kilometres away from me in St. Georgen. They have a small turntable museum over there, a marvellous place. If you're ever travelling through these parts of Germany, it's worth a visit!

The turntable museum in St Georgen (hometown of Perpetuum Ebner & DUAL!) has been relocated to a bigger building, and there are a lot more exhibits than before. Check it out if you're passing through! :D
