is it possible to cut a disk made of cow dung?

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

i have a circa 1940's Presto 6N and a vintage Guernsey and I was curious if anyone here has tried to cut using a dung-disk? I made 3 test discs by mixing the dung with 1 part lacquer in a blender, forming it into a disc and allowing it to harden. I completely ruined my blender and when I tried to cut the disk it literally turned to crap. now my number one lathe has number 2 all over it. do you think it has anything to do with the cows diet or am I doing something wrong? There is surprisingly little info on the net about using dung dubs. can anyone here help? also can anyone recommend a good incense?

I think, a good idea is to heat the dung up with
good german steam:

It's all about reducing fiber content for smooth cutting. I have a goat that is fed a strict diet of regrinds and schwarf for homemade media production. The main problem now is getting the plating facilities to accept them!!

Hey
You should have used some cows piss as well
The Urea content would have given you a better surface to cut on
Now if it all has turned into shit you know why
No cows piss
Futher, you have not taken the piss from the cow have you?
So could you please stop taking the piss out of us
Cheers
Chris

I once cut one on a heavilylacquered slice of lunchmeat for an art show. It was roast beef If I recall. it curled a bit too much as it dried and skipped horribly. there were a few audible grooves through the horrible surface noise.

I live in the city, for me its very difficult to find this raw material, is there anybody who has an idea of where can I found any dung international trader? I think Argentinian guys have lots of cows but taxes are very high. any suggestions on this? thanks in advance.-

I found a new pressing company. PM me for details.
In the picture one of the employees pressing discs, before carefully packing.-

How could you ask such a feculent question? You would have to record the Chinese folk tune, "Oh, How I Love To Carry Cow Waste Up The Hill For The Commune"...
