High-torque Turntable options for embossing
Hey there, I have been doing some research on motors to spin a platter and found that there are some deals on ebay for Rek-O-Kut turntables. Would something like this suffice, and would it be worth the price? Thank you for any and all advice.

Hello friend.
I have no knowledge about this product but I use a reloop RP-7000 which works very well. It has great torque.

Thanks for the reply, wow, those tables have some torque!! ..And at that price.. I might just have to save up for one.

All the Rek-O-Kut rim drive turntables have enough torque generally to drive an overhead for cutting or embossing, you can often find them on ebay for around $200 or less as a bare turntable unit (no plinth or tonearm.) Since ROK also sold overhead cutters to go with the turntables they were designed to be able to handle them. You might have to clean out the bearing well, replace the ball bearing and maybe the idler wheels, though.
