Replicas

Anything goes! Inventors! Artists! Cutting edge solutions to old problems. But also non-commercial usage of record cutting. Cost- effective, cost-ineffective, nutso, brilliant, terribly fabulous and sometimes fabulously terrible ideas.

I wish you were more willing to collaborate. I already have a stereo design finished. Shopping for the right metal shop now.

Now sending for testing.
This is how the heads will look.
I think they turned out pretty good for a first try.
Now let's make sure they meet spec.

A thing of beauty..........
Any idea what the finished head mass will be?
I basic drawing with the general geometry would be very useful so that potential customers can evaluate if this can be mounted on a specific lathe such as

1) Size & position of mounting screws,
2) Position of stylus from rear mounting face,
3) Overall size of head

I would probably mock up a "dummy head" in wood first to check suitability but I imagine there would not be a problem .......can't wait for the test results well done on your terrific progress.

Holy smokes! You are a fine machinist. Did you CNC or hand mill, typically/exclusively?

Also, hows your lathe build? It would be great to see some photos sometime.

Well made stuff, friend.

This work just smells of quality and attention to detail. And the bouquet of first press lubrication oils. Very sexy indeed.

Ouch. Mine is actually quite well engineered. In fact, I would put mine head to head with one of these. I wager mine gives better results in stereo. Just saying...

Be not offended! I suspect only a simple typo. I read it like:

and this is real metal...100% metalalloys

not the currently-in-rapid-protoyping-devolpment-stage-where-FDM-via-thermoplastics-is-most-efficient-and-practical models
