Re: Replicas
Very impressive. I started playing around with machining. I have a micro mill. It's not easy. Especially with no training. I hope to be able to do work like that one day.

I'm certain it will.opcode66 wrote:Ouch. Mine is actually quite well engineered. In fact, I would put mine head to head with one of these. I wager mine gives better results in stereo. Just saying...
Why ouch? Did somebody say something? I didn't notice

Let me know when a Bladerunner falls out of your Cheerios. On a lighter note, I will be transitioning to metal as soon as my ACL, MCL and cartilage damage heal in my right knee. As it is, both my knees are now injured and I have to pull myself around on the floor to get to the computer from my bed. Fun times.powerstrip wrote:not the cereal box 3D print models

Re: Replicas
I'm sure if opcode sell blade runner over 1.5k its going to be metal I don't think its plastic, but on the other hand the guys like me who cant afford 1.5k or 2k what ever the price is I think having a feedback head done in abs or plastic or pla at a cheap price cuase its plastic, I say great bring it on good for the community and the diy cutter freaks
At the end of the day metal is the best
But expect to pay more.

I didn't even know you were making these and I was in no way aiming toward you. I love old fashioned machine work, so I feel like real cutting equipment is machine lathed, sorry to be such a downer.
I've been doing radio tower construction with a torn MCL since december, so just walk it off.
I do appreciate your work but get over yourself.
Re: Replicas
Results are results, undeniably... Not about me. Its about the work at hand I'm doing for the benfit of the community. I will be transitioning to metal parts after the r&d is completed. It actually makes more sense to do it this way. I've compressed years of tinkering in metal into a 6 month period by doing it in plastic instead. I can tweak part designs and print new ones much more rapidly than one can do in metal. Just a simple fact.
To answer Dimi, i will be selling three models: an all plastic cheap learner/burner head, hybrid metal plastic semi pro, and an all metal pro model.
Have a listen to my last filmed test cut. I am much further along now...
