VMS 80 microscope halogen lamp

Hey 80 users,,what's the maximum wattage you can use? Is 12v 35w ok...microscope image is very dim, cleaned both ends of the light pipe and rotating aperture filter

is wide open...any tips greatly appreciated thanks! 8)

-76 user, but thought I'd mention my Nikon transformer psu for the lathe mic is half of what you mention - i.e., 6V / 30 VA.

If you're using a bulb that wants to be run at up ro 12V, and if, by chance, your PSU is delivering, at max, only half that, one might expect this dim view... );

Not that you have that precise scanario - but if one did, there are (even) Halogen mic bulbs down at 6V, such as: https://microscopecentral.com/products/accu-scope-6v-30w-halogen-microscope-bulbs-3256-30w?variant=1031165689
