The 'Corinth' cutter head
Has anyone heard of a cutter head designed by a Dr. Corinth (in Germany) Known as a 'Corinth' head?
Apparently can be used with Neumann or Ortofon electonics.

Yes, exist, but only for experiments and crazy prices too...
Re: The 'Corinth' cutter head
Why are you interested about Corinth's head ?
Re: The 'Corinth' cutter head
Dr.Corinth repaired Neumann heads for Sean Davies for awhile until he got bored with it.then he developed the head mentioned.
I know they are expensive,I heard about 10k euros. Supposed to sound really good though.
Was just interested to find out if there was any progress. Apparently not! Thanks for the link btw.

No, I've never seen it and if there are prototypes, I don't know who is evaluating them.
Was Lex in Holland ever involved in testing one? Perhaps I'm imagining it!

Re: The 'Corinth' cutter head
I met Dr. Corinth in Mainz during my last trip to Germany. Remarkably skilled man. I did not hear a demonstration of the head, because at the time I was not interested in purchasing a head. But he showed me his parts, tooling, and methods, and everything was impeccable. (He was using a Schaublin 70 metal lathe, which is relatively common, but his was brand new, in perfect shape, and had an expensive microscope attached for machining fine work).
Amazing studio too, he had a Scully lathe with custom electronics, and another custom cutting amp specifically for testing cutterheads. Also some contract work in progress for Microtech Gefell, designing low noise microphone electronics.

Hi Guys,
I have the Corinth Cutterhead and using it now everyday since +/- 4 years. I know that there are 4 or 5 used.
At Schnittstelle, SST, Record Industry and one here (www.thevinylroom.nl) where number 5 is I don't know but I am almost sure that there were made 5 of it.
