Newbilt extruder - changing colours waste

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

Newbilt extruder - changing colours waste

Hi everyone!

We work with a newbilt extruder. We always have the same problem whenever we change colors.
We start with the manual purge to start getting the new color completely clean, but the first 40 records or so always keep a little bit of the previous color.

Is there any way we can not have so many waste on the first initial records?

Clearly if you have residue from the old color, you are missing something in your cleaning process.

In case you arent using it yet try pvc cleaner granulate to pruge the previous color. Ask you granulate supplier.

PVC cleaner in my experience is more expensive than just running clear compound through the barrel. Minimizing waste is more of an operational thing than technical - plan your jobs carefully to group similar colors, only purge material if and when absolutely necessary. Work from lighter to darker colors then back again.
