Plating problems
Hello,
Anyone else with this problem?
Apparently the silver is not fixing correctly, and during the flash process the thin layer of nickel before the lead in comes off the lacquer.
The problem is the same using Transco Lacquers.

Re: Plating problems
It's called "Crow's Feet". Contamination in the bath solution is giving you stress. It usually appears in the run-out groove. It is not thought to be related to silvering. What happens when you plate a nickel matrice in the same bath?
Re: Plating problems
24h filtering through carbon filters + dummy on low amp (3-5A)should help. Do not forget to supplement the surfactant afterwards.
Baths in which you process laqs should be filtered through carbon filters on a monthly basis, obviously depends on the amount of work.
We have noticed that nickel deposits (anodes, and not the electrolyte) are too warm (right after the process), this effect also occurs. in general, anything that increases stress in the baths can cause it.

Chemical treatment is in process. We don't use to put nickel matrice using this bath. We use it only for flash.Aussie0zborn wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 6:22 amIt's called "Crow's Feet". We use filter aid + coal all the time.
