Do They Still Make Record Presses???? YES!!!

Once you have cut a master laquer, you have metal stampers created and have records pressed from them. Discuss manufacturing here. (Record Matrix Electroforming- Plating, Vinyl Record Pressing.)

I still dream of a press in the corner of basement or garage without the town getting on me...

True... with a water cooler in the back yard. Somewhere there will also be a boiler. https://lathetrolls.com/viewtopic.php?t=1075&mforum=lathetrolls

No doubt it is a better option However you would still have a manual machine as well as the additional cost's involved in setting up a plant How about the following items which are deemed necessary for a plant:
Another $10K for the ballance of the installation? delivery, installation, steam, water, plumbing, electrical work switchboards air lines lighting
Another $20K for Dies just one set of each 7" 10" 12" with their associated holding down plates clamps centre pins or a dieset for each one of them
Moulds are $2 K a side $4 K a pair = $12 K, diesets are $2.5 K each x 3 = $7.5 K
Another $15 K for finishing centering, punching, forming gear for the plates
Another $10 K for auxillaries little fork lift pallett jack Granulator label punch out machine Air compressor Rack space and a few little bits and pieces
May be another $5 K for spares sitting on the rack
Now we are getting there You can look forward to start pressing Around $100 K you are in Allow about $15 K for the hidden lessons You are a vinyl record presssing shop in with one machine. So here is what to look forward to: Frequent die changes frequent plate changes customer expectations which sometimes defy logic But you can press records Please allow about a $100 bill per 100 records as well, you will burn that in the begining or just walk down the corner and give these $100 bills away to passers by They will be thankfull for your generosity pray for you and your soul wishing you everlasting health long life and prosperity You wont get that setting up a pressing shop for any size record you press from any customer You will get praises though No doubt and you can be a proud man and part of the trend in the ever diminishing pool of vinyl record pressing plants
Cheers
