Technical Journal articles
is anyone aware of any technical journals or similar that discuss record pressing or related topics? i want to write a term paper on the topic for my Mech Eng degree but i am having trouble finding good references i can cite on my paper. I'm SURE there's got to be a paper somewhere on, say, Viryl's steamless press.
can anyone throw me a bone here?

Re: Technical Journal articles
I think your best bet would be the Audio Engineering Society; www.aes.org You have to be a member to view pdf files of the papers. You might also try searching on http://patft.uspto.gov/netahtml/PTO/search-adv.htm and include results prior to 1976 (dropdown on left) for pressing technology.

Hi There Jay Pee
Less than 2 minutes to find this !!
The study examines the state of the art in processing master lacquers through the intermediate stages of metal plating on through to vinyl pressing. Detailed noise and distortion measurements at each interface are described, and the effects of normal variations in processes as well as changes in materials are noted.
Author: Eargle, John M.
Affiliation: RCA Records, New York, NY
JAES Volume 17 Issue 4 pp. 416-422; August 1969 Permalink
Publication Date: August 1, 1969
Jay Pee, I'm sure you will find much more information within the library, it's both Authorative, (most everything AES is peer reviewed, so should be satifactory to even the most demanding of assessment of your "Term Paper" by your Professor ) and AES student membership discounts are available
