VinyGo lathe project

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

this looks super cool, has anyone given it a try?
is the creator here?

either way, kudos to them for what seems to be a successful open source lathe project

It indeed looks like a great project, although the creator seems to have gone awol and the documentation is seriously lacking detail.
This is another open source attempt with a bit more details on the build. http://fabacademy.org/2020/labs/digiscope/students/ambroise-devries/docs/p02.html

But i think the best effort is from our very own troll pentlandsound who goes into much detail to help anyone get something up and running. Plus he's still about so you can shoot he a question or 2.

very cool! I mostly figured it would serve as a useful reference for people, and we should document it here for posterity.
I'm a big fan of the pentlandsound project, fantastic work and updates
