Turntable for 14" lacquers/mothers

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Turntable for 14" lacquers/mothers

Sorry if there is already a topic on this, I couldn't seem to find one.
I am looking for a good turntable for listening tests on 14" lacquers and mothers. Preferably one which can switch off the automatic rotations so I can do small turns by hand to locate specific areas in the grooves.

If there are any particular models which work well for this task I would be grateful to be shown which ones.

Cheers

Do you mean SP10? 14” won’t fit on a 1210 unless you drop the strobe tower and relocate the tonearm.

No i mean 1210…fits perfectly fine if you leave original rubber and an extra slipmat. Played 100s on it. Try it.

Thanks for the quick replies.
We have a 1210 but it seemed too tight I will try an extra mat.
I will also check out the EMT.
Cheers

Cheap option is the Audio Technica ATLP5 - it will fit a 14" with no modification at all. If you shop around the vintage hifi world there are hundreds of transcription turntables that will accommodate a 14" disc without any modification too, it just might involve traipsing around a few hi-fi dealers to try them out.
