Mystery Lyrec lathe

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Mystery Lyrec lathe

Sorry for the crappy pictures!

I have found this Lyrec lathe called "Type AG 36-1 NR 4653"
and here google is not of much help - could this be some kind of custom job?
There is also an AG 40 turntable and two motors and heavy platters.

Yeah, heavy metal!
Looks like a more stationary version of the SV2 "mobile" recorder.
Also cool finding a bunch of motors and turntables!

BTW - are you somewhere in the north?

hi yes - Denmark, homeland of the Lyrec (which by the way is short for "Lyngby Recorders" - Lyngby being the danish town where they were loacted)
I manged to take some better pictures - some of the items I don't even know what are, so any info some might have would be very helpful to me

Can it be that one of the motors is a little shorter? Something ike 2/3 of the other? If that is the case then you have one motor for 33/78 RPM and the other is the classic SM8/3 with 33/45/78 RPM speed. No starter motor attached.
The mechanics look really nice, classic lyrec!
The "electronics" I can't identify - can be pretty anything from what I see on the pictures...

Great machine. I would buy one for myself. I like these cutting head offset mechanisms.
