Mystery cutting head

What could this be?

It comes from the Danish National broadcasting cooperation.
There i absolutely no writing on it - maybe something custom made?
No idea even if it's stereo or mono but looks 'old'

Probably a Neumann r12 Mono Head

This one is branded Telefunken but its a Neumann

The Head may also be a "Type A" which was a Neumann clone. Later Models in the Series were the "Type B" Cutter which was in all likelihood the prototype for the famous Grampian Mono Cutterheads (B1, B1/D, C, D) Feedback blah de blah!! Here is one fitted to an Early BBC/MSS Lathe.

the screwhole in the middle looks similar and the rounded edges, but mine looks bigger judging form the pictures
also I wonder why there is no writing on it...

Sometimes the Cutterheads were unbranded!! See if you can Get a Look at the "BBC" Cutterhead before it evolved into the Grampian, very similar also. PS We read what you wrote and knew what you meant

Having personally handled and used Neumann R12, the screw terminals on the back look very similar to R12, and are located similarly. The stylus locking screw is also similar to R12. I think this is also a mono standard groove cutter that utilizes steel needles, like the R12. It looks a lot bulkier than an R12, which is comparably slim in relation to the front face. The front face proportion is more slender than an R12. It appears more in line with Ortofon 501/502. Impossible to draw any conclusions from these superficialities.

Ortofon would make sense since it's a danish company and this head comes from the dansih broadcasting cooperation. However google does not have a picture of Ortofon 501/502...

Hmm, I'm pretty sure it is neither an Ortofon nor Neumann.
Ortofon never made cutters with screw tightening system for styli, and without feedback (needs more connectors) unless it is an unknown historical one of a kind prototype from 1920...unlikely
Neumann R12a and R12b or the rebranded Telefunkens also look different and are thinner..
To me it looks more like your other head (Lyrec) - a side to side comparison could identify.
You could also unscrew the stylus screw and open the lid to see if there's more info inside (or identical parts with the Lyrec)
