My 1st lathe thanks guys

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Congrats on your lathe!

Am I seeing correctly that you do the lateral movement by displacing the turntable itselve?

Yes I turn the handle and the deck slides on an old pair of drawer sliders

really really pleased, quality is good on the bass, good mid, poor on the treble. I'd like to make a lighter cutting needle somehow, I glued a couple of stainless cake icing nozzles on to two speakers. The weight of the metal Made it a bit muffled I think
