Westrex Blue and Black heads

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hey guys. Lurking for a while.

I have seen Westrex 3DIIA heads in blue and black colors. Blue ones have RC filters for each channel located on the plate with the male connectors for right and left channels. Black ones have the same filters under the long metal arm just before the head itself. Those are the only differences I have been able to tell but... ¿Does anybody knows of more differences? Sonic wise? Is there a reason to prefer one or another?
