Hi all - Long time reader first time poster....
Wondering if anyone knows how the Presto 5C head differs from the 1D. I have a K8 that does pretty well (for a K8 anyway) but am considering an upgrade to a Rek o Kut Imperial w/ a Presto 1D head. I understand that the Imperial itself is a big upgrade from the K8, but wondering if the 1D will give better/louder results.
I'm embossing PC and PVC, if that matters.
Thanks in advance for all of your trollish knowledge!

Re: Presto 5C vs 1D
I don't know much about the 5C, but the 1D is a great head, here's the manual thread if you'd like to read about it:

in my experience it can cut way above the rated 10kHz with ease, I usually keep my HF cutoff for plastic cuts at 13 kHz.
I think Steve has found his 1D to go all the way up to 17kHz even?
Maybe I'm remembering it wrong, but either way I'd put the 1D along with the highest range of more available mono heads with the Fairchild M541, Grampians, etc.
