Cutting acetate with the vinylrecorder

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hello,

Since 2 years now i cut dubs with a vinylrecorder. Now i have just discovered this website!!! AMAZING!!! I love it!!! Finally people to talk to, ask questions, exchange expieriences...!

Now, as told i work with the vinylrecorder on pvc plates.
Since a while i'm thinking of testing acetate plates on my machine!

Has anyone on this forum done this before me or am i the first wanting to test this?

Looking forward to your reactions!

I think it's possible, you'd need a saphire stylus. Check other threads, I think I read somewhere that a westrex stylus will fit. Make sure you have a vac system since the chip is flammable. Please let us know how this works, I'm very interested.
