Presto help?!

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hi all,

I was interested in replacing the head suspension spring on my presto 6n. Has anybody found anything that is a suitable replacement?

Thanks!

I've had good luck with springs from McMaster. Do a search for "precision extension springs" on their website. They have tons of options... I don't remember what I used, but that's where I got a replacement from.

Great. Thanks Aaron. I totally spaced looking at McMaster for one. I will post back if I can find something that ends up working well.
