Presto, Rek-O-Kut or other system wanted

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

I'm looking for a complete setup to cut 33 1/3 and 45 records.

Mono is fine. Stereo is better.

It would be great if it could do 78 RPM as well.

Must contain lathe, cutter head, amp, etc.

I have up to $2000 to spend, depending upon condition.

Let me know what people have.

You will never find a stereo lathe for that price.

$2000 is just about right for a Presto 6n, cutter head and modern amplifier, (with amybe a little money leftover) but you will probably have to build suction and stylus heat.

You should also have put this in the classifieds section.
