Did I blow my TKV Cutting head?

Hello , i hope some people on the forum could help .
I was cutting with the TKV cutting head when all of a sudden the sound just turned off.
I checked to see if the fuses i used were blow out and they seem to be ok.
I’m starting to believe the speakers inside are blown.

Does anyone know what kind of little speakers he used for the cutting head?
I wanna see if i could change them out and fix it.

I’m sure if i contacted them they would charge a fortune for a repair.

I’d rather repair it myself if possible.

Any help would be great

i’m gonna run some test to see if maybe my amp might have blown a fuse and check my wiring.

It is really strange how the head just stopped working.
I didn’t see any smoke or smell any burnt electronics.

Have you checked the impedance of the coils? Do that before taking anything apart

so i checked the leads coming out the head and it seems one of them is not working.

The other channel is working well as it passes sounds when connected to the amplifier.

But when i connect the other channel there is no sound from its side.

Again, check the impedance of the coils as then you can likely tell if it is a coil burnt out, or just a faulty cable coming from the head. One is an easy cheap fix, one isn't, so do this when you can.

Just wanted to update this thread.
i did indeed burnout one channel of the cutting head.

I was using a 1 amp fast blow fuse which was way too high for this cutting head. Kostix recommended i use a 500ma fast blow.
I sent my cutting head for repair to Kostix and he did an excellent job in repairing it and giving me info on certain frequencies that need to be tamed down.


i now have the cutting head back and it’s back in action.
