Diamond stylus anatomy?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hello friends!

I was wondering if anyone know the parts of a diamond stylus?
I use the T560 and as I can see the diamond is glued on a metalic base and wrapped with a kind of wire.
So it works like an electric spiral?
What kind of wire is and what kind of glue they use to stuck them?
More, how many times is the wire wrapped? :!:

Hi,

In the past, I've used 0.005" diameter Nichrome wire. 4 or 5 turns should be enough.
