Looking for pvc blanks

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

if your need is that great, I would suggest contacting a few plants and getting quotes on pressing them yourself.
usage of blank stampers is reasonable at all plants I've used.

ive been looking for some blanks too but, I cant find any. so I just made a fixture to rework old records I don't need anymore. I just face them off and re-cut. it works but you need to a real good finish.
I think that's the way to go instead of buying them all the time and then throwing them away when they don't cut right.

tell me no?

Souri style = Polycarbonate = PC

Pressed record = Polyvinyl Chloride = PVC

One typically cuts polycarb PC discs using a diamond.

Todd's right.
If you're looking for polycarbonate blanks, I keep a small stock and could sell you some.
Send me an email at: tragwag (at) gmail (dot) com

Roland, there is mention of 'record cutting blanks' on the forum somewhere, do a search.
