I'm not currently making one but for those of you who want to check this out!

Its a Horseshoe Magnetic Cartridge but I feel it'll also work in reverse to cut

You can also probably use the info and research to make something more of the modern stereo pro heads, now that you know the basics.

i bet if the coil and spring are strong enough you could cut with this pick up, has a VERY similar design to old presto and RCA heads...
generally its for reproduction.. but i like to play wif it sometimes..

Yes, those old pickups can be used for recording. I have a book that suggests using a pick up if your budget is tight...
Principle is the same, but there some differences to real cutters. Stiffer springs, stronger coils...
But might be good for some lofi stuff.
