Problem with Souri !!! It is true?

This is where record cutters raise questions about cutting, and trade wisdom and experiment results. We love Scully, Neumann, Presto, & Rek-O-Kut lathes and Wilcox-Gay Recordios (among others). We are excited by the various modern pro and semi-pro systems, too, in production and development. We use strange, extinct disc-based dictation machines. And other stuff, too.

Hi lathers!

I have a problem with Souri (vinylrecorder). I contact with he in 2005 about the vinylrecorder. I wanted and I want. He tell me "You must wait" "in this moment I haven´t items" "new serie in progress" ... and I have been wait arround 6 months and he do not contact with me, and he tell me "we keep you informed!"
A friend contacted with he and ... "in this moment no machines!"
I want 3 machines and I do not why he haven't it or do not want sell me. I would go to germany and I would pay in cash!

But, can somebody help me? Do he have machines really? It is true? Somebody has been in the store of Hosskirch? I do not know ....

Thankyou very much for your help lathers !!!!!!!

I'm from America and have dealt with Souri; he's really a nice guy to deal with, but he makes these machines by hand one at a time, and also makes a lot of revisions and improvements. I have not seen his website in a long time (2 to 3 years), and it looks like he is coming out with more products and improving his cutting lathe. Be patient. I use his blanks for dubplates and they are very durable and good quality. I cut them on a much modified Presto 6N and they sound very good. Souri probably is making changes in his design and will produce machines soon.

wow ibiza?

saludos y suerte!
Marcos

I thought souri only sold his blanks to vinylrecorder users?

QUESTION:

Souri, the machine vinylrecorder have a feedback?

ANSWER:

Old machine have this.
At that time, no good mechanical damping was possible of the low power
magnets they had.

With new strong Magents any mechanical damping is possible. And even if it takes 50% of power, no risc for Cutterhead

Maybe we do later this.

Feedback is not so important.

Much shittalkers on that scene. The limits of our machine is not the
machine, it is the playbackstylus.

Our blanks are real hard and durable. No other machine worldwide can do
this.

The sound is fresh and clear.
And we have normaly always machines on stock. No prepayment !!!!
You must come and cut, and want or not. Not one did not want.

If you have more questions, please ask

ääh, first: a email is a privat thing. posting it to a forum is
not very nice  but... anyway  .
I don´t know the exact contruction of souris head, and I think,
thats not important...
souris head design is very good, and working well, but there
are some things to say:
the head sounds good, but not as good as a professional cutting head,
i´ve tested this, and it´s true.
you can cut vinyl/pvc or whatever with any cutting head, thats not the problem.
what you need is: blanks and diamond styli.
souris joker are the blanks and the styli.... more the blanks.
his blanks are very good, nobody can beat them (at the moment).
the other thing is, souri doesnt want to sell blanks/styli to other "bad minded"
cutting people.
so, I do resesarch for myself, but cutting vinyl is not my main business,
I cut mostly masters for pressing plants.
but I can say:
-diamond styli is finished
-blanks are still in progress (not an easy thing)
as long as souri doesn´t want to sell his stuff to "not v-recorderpeople"
I still do research.... but not every day 8 ours.
stay tuned for more :)
