OK. Looks like was my vacuum tube that was really close to the disc.
Now all good.
Thanks all

Re: Light marks when cutting with diamond
Yup. Checked that. I made a few cuts with lacquer and looks/sounds good. No problem at all. Same feedscrew and sapphire. Cut a 12" both sides and no problem. All looks ok. When I use a diamond and shank blanks have some weird grooves. Using heat lamp 90 degress consistant. Measuring every second. Fi...

Re: Light marks when cutting with diamond
Nah. :( One side only. Next 5 same thing. What is going wrong? Looks like sometimes my groove is deep enough and sometime barely touch the disc. Anyone cutting with diamond on Presto 6N? How is your experience? Now that I setup the vacuum and all works well this happens. Maybe I'll need a heating st...

Re: Light marks when cutting with diamond
Ok. I think I figure it out.
Looks like the discs from shank were not completely flat.
So I added some tape and the right temperature. Voila.
Hope the next batch will be ok.

This one the song 1 is fine and than starts in the middle of song 2. http://anderson-oliveira.com/IMG_5043.JPG http://anderson-oliveira.com/IMG_5045.JPG Cut one side all good. Not a particular song. I have the same song in another disc and looks fine.
I think maybe is my ionizer and vacuum jar that is on the same table as my Presto causing some vibration?

Light marks when cutting with diamond
Got some blanks and a diamond stylus and my first cuts have this light marks on the discs. Have 5 discs and all of them have that after the cut. And is only on one side. The other is ok. You can see the first track almost at the end. Do you guys know if this is a blank problem or my cutting? Or is a...

Re: First real cut with Diamond
Thanks. Yeah added my vacuum tube on from of the cutter head. Instead of the back. Works for me. Tried in the back but didn't worked that well. That's music :) Will try upload to Soundcloud next. I think I can get a little more loud. More high end frequencies too. My other problem now is that my han...

First real cut with Diamond
Ok all So this was my first real cut with diamond and my Presto 6N. So have been fighting static for the last 2 weeks. Nightmare. So I decided to do something different this time. Washed my blank with water and dish soap first. Dried with microfiber and applied MyShank anti static fluid. No ionizer....

Re: Reversing an aquarium vacuum pump
OK. Just tried. For sure the Tetra APS 100 did not work. Not enough power to get the swarf from a diamond (shank blank and heated lamp). 2mm near the stylus. Just tried and no way to get the swarf all the way. Got first 5 seconds and that's it. Used of baby powder of course. :), Latex tubbing both w...

WTB: Presto 1-C, 1-D or any other that fits Presto 6N
Hi all
I'm looking to buy a Presto 1-C, 1-D or any other that fits my Presto 6N that I can use with a long shank diamond stylus.
Thanks
Anderson

Would love to know that too.
The same wiring and electronics will work on a Presto 1C?
How did you build? What electronics parts did you use?
Thanks
Anderson
