Jose,
This is fantastic. Another supply in the market would be ideal for many of us.
The shortage of "Dubs" has hit a few here over the past year.
It won't be easy but anything worth doing is never easy.
I hope you find someone to partner with.

Re: Audrino/microswitch and Zuma pitch
Thanks 2bitcomputer.
Luckily enough I have been in touch with Todd elsewhere and has confirmed the voltage information I was missing.
I can now proceed to mocking up a controller for this project.
I'll keep this updated as I progress.

Re: Audrino/microswitch and Zuma pitch
So we have confirmed that it is indeed possible to control with Arduino in the absence of a PS66 for input signals. Can someone who has more experience with the Neumann PS66 share some input (or output in this case) Next stage, to find the voltages used. What does the PS66 out for the given paramete...

Re: KNOP lathe DIY build
Does anybody have any experience with soldering the pushrods to the torque tube? Good idea or not? If you choose to do it, get yourself some brazing rods. Don't water cool the assembly. Just let it cool naturally. You will be dealing with pretty hi heat so make sure all perishables are removed. And...

Re: Audrino/microswitch and Zuma pitch
Hi, So are you looking at having the Arduino emulate the Zuma or just allow for manual override? I assume numbers 7,8, and 9 are analog inputs? Mark Manual override on the input side. Basically just to tell it what is been cut. Taking the place of a PS programmer I think is the right description. Y...

Audrino/microswitch and Zuma pitch
Has anyone given any thought of controlling the Zuma pitch using audrino and micro-switching for non Neumann lathes? It is possible to control all input voltages the Zuma needs to see from an audrino based system. Obviously, there are some functions that the Zuma doesn't see from the Neumann lathes ...

Tim,
I seen it already and know a little about the sale.
Seller wants top dollar for the sale and not prepared to budge.
Unfortunately, I am not prepared to pay 30 odd for a suspension and a half nut.

Re: cutting direct from tape. advise needed for studerA80 de
It is possible but time consuming. If you are working on a 2 channel desk you have to re-record the changes and record the preview back into DAW. It could be a complete rabbit hole if working on an album. You could just waste a day transferring from the 2 track mix/Master tape to the slave deck. The...

The preview wouldn't be the same as been cut. You would need to mimic the curve of the IPS been cut and all other nuances.

Here is a motor that is used elsewhere for feedscrew.

With regards to Neumann motors, There are a couple of motors in there controlling different functions. I will have a look through my files here later for you.

I think the wiki is a great idea. Just a shame it lacks contributions and tends to get overlook.
I think the search function does a pretty comprehensive job when searching for particulars of Presto, Scully and Neumann's.

That's great news Deke. Glad you are still chugging away at it. It seems a massive labor of love.
Keep us updated with the reassemble as it progress's.
What I'd really love to see and would be most helpful to me is the locking mechanism on the feedfinger.
