Re: Project "Groove Scribe"- A DYI stereo 45/45 head.

With reference to the "SupaFix" I just did a quick continuity test and although I could not pass current through the cured adhesive it is attracted to a magnetic source, I also attempted to file the cured surface and could not do any significant damage to it! hence the company video showing a grinde...

Re: Project "Groove Scribe"- A DYI stereo 45/45 head.

Hi Brian I have been using a product called "Supa Fix" for the last few months and it appears very similar to your baking soda method, and as you say makes a massive difference to the strength of a joint, I've also used it to make my own drive belts from o' ring section. Would it work with fine meta...

I also own the MSS portable lathe, I managed to get the thing running but wasn't impressed with the lathe to be honest & have since canablised some of the parts for other projects, The cutter head is a pretty robust & easy to work on should it be required. I have attached below some photos of the wo...

Hi Nick I presume you have spoken to Chris King? He lives in your area and I would have thought he could point you in the correct direction, failing that why not post up some details of your current setup with maybe some photos? I'm sure some of the more knowledgeable pros on this forum would be abl...

Re: Who can help me with my VR T560 cutterhead?

Yes thanks for posting!
I can't believe how these drivers look really lightweight and basic underneath the silicone?
I was expecting some custom wound coils? There appears to be no springs......very interesting, thanks again

Todd the "ceramic cylindrical core" sounds interesting depending on the size may make it possible to heat a steel stylus without putting any current directly into the stylus I may rip one apart and investigate!

Not sure this of any use to you guys busy winding coils! but an old guy in an electronics shop when hearing me enquire about coil winding said back in the day they used to keep the wire taught on the bobbin by passing it through a slit(razor cut) in a piece of sponge as opposed to direct from the re...

Hi Bryan it's nice to see you revisit the old set of drivers I still think they could be useful ? But I still can't get my head around plastic springs! Apart from the ease of making them, Going back to the more recent transducers you used, could you not simply remove some material from the original ...

Re: Dubplate shortage

Maybe a stupid question but why is the coating not sprayed onto the aluminium? Just because the manufacturing process is currently carried out in a certain way it doesn't mean it's the best! Especially when the process has basically remained the same for 5 decades.... All the blurb says years of res...
