Re: VR: Heat Affecting Dashpot?
Yep, I am the guy with the Airpot mounted in a small Hara M180 lathe. I've started worrying about adding a dashpot system when Steven from MyShank asked me if I was using one when I ruined my first diamond stylus after 30 blanks only. After reading some posts about it I found this: https://www.lath...

Re: John Hassell Recordings
I think Deroy packed up around 1979. Some of their '70s albums are highly sought after these days, especially the folky ones. There used to be a website dedicated to them but it vanished a couple of weeks ago. They made a big fuss about their Neumann, which it looks like they bought around 1968... ...

His MSS was described as being 'modified', though it doesn't specifically say how, and was run with a 100w Grampian amp MMMMmmm? An MSS Lathe with a Grampian Amp and Possibly a Grampian Laydown Head?? Makes sense, Head response of the Grampian compared to the MSS Laydown Cutterheads as different as...

I have a spoke at 4000 hz on my recordings too which I was wondering was from the idler too although it see...

If I'm feeding it with AC then there must be some steps I'm missing. I appreciate the help.
