Re: Caruso Preamp Full Build Service

Thanks for al the suggestions guys!

I'm still a bit unsure though - seems like there might be differnet standards for these things... although my wiring is very similar to Opcodes. however I'm on UK power so 220V at 50hz

Re: Caruso Preamp Full Build Service

I did think it was kinda weird how they had it but i followed the colour codes they suggested. https://i.imgur.com/ubF3OuI.jpg but then I looked closely at opcode's pics in the earlier post, and...

Now Ineed to figure how to connect it to the mains and ...

Re: FS: Presto 8DG w Grampian Selected Fully restored & amaz

are they noisy?

the motor i replaced my NYC-34 Bodine with is quite noisy, mostly cos it has a fan.... but definately noisier than the old Bodines. just wondering if theres another option. Specs wise mine is as close to the NYC-34 as I could find and pretty much like for like - on paper.

my friend Jesse Dean makes really nice tone arms and other turntable-realted mods and bits. he might be a useful guy to talk to but it kinda looks like you got everything sewn up!

Re: Presto 8dg refurb. (Lathe porn)

man those Bodine Motors are nice and quiet compared to the one I'm using, too bad they run at the wrong speed here in the UK.

Did you have to dissassemble the gear box at all to service it?
