Re: Staticide for anti-static?

I have never used Turtle Wax.
I cut on a vinyl recorder so in the beginning I used the anti-static stuff that came with it.
When that ran out I switched to Staticide.

Re: Staticide for anti-static?

I've used Staticide and found it to be pretty effective at eliminating static. I don't think I've ever dropped a chip after using it. It drys pretty clean - I just wipe a thin rainbow-y coat on the spinning blank, watch it evaporate, check the temperature, and then cut. And a gallon lasts a loooong ...

Re: Adding strobe hashes to Presto platter

That's definitely not going to work because the math is wrong. 33.33333333 rpm/60 = .55555555. hz which would be the frequency the strobe would need to flash at to freeze the TT once per revolution. If there were say 180 hash marks on the TT the strobe could flash at 100hz (180 x .55555555 = 100) an...

Re: Adding strobe hashes to Presto platter

How about using equidistant hash marks, say 8 or 16, and building a custom strobe that flashes at 100hz (3 x 33.33333).
The strobe could just be a Teensy 3.2 driving an LED using the 'analogWriteFrequency' function?

Re: Help with T560 vinyl recorder calibration

Myshank likes to joke around but he has an excellent setup procedure for the t560 on his website: http://www.myshank.com/en/content/6-faq It's pretty important that you get the head set up at the right height and the right position relative to record surface - this might require you to move the supp...

Re: VinylRecorder Groove speed motor noise through record

I had a similar problem with motor noise in my cuts - The pitch of the noise varied with the pitch of the pitch motor(!) - At first I thought it was a vibrational noise but I managed to rule that out by using a spare motor and a belt drive - eventually fixed it by getting a better 12v power supply. ...
