Re: Presto feed finger question

If you still have the blade you can cut the slot and just put it back in with the blade pulled out a little more. You can sharpen the contour side that is pushed by the feedscrew with a 1/4” dremel sanding barrel

Re: NEWBIE STARTER GUIDE!

We don't heat the stylus for embossing, just heat the disc to around 105 degrees. Never really tried. I've always been told that you have to have suction pulling air past the stone if you are heating it and suction is the reason I hate doing anything but embossing. And we get pretty good results wit...

Might I inquire if Sapphire Embossing on PETG is a bad idea?
I’ve read that PETG is softer than Polycarbonate, wouldn’t the be beneficial for fidelity and stylus life?
It just doesn't sound good. Lots of surface noise and dull high end.

Re: Vinyl Lathe Cut Machine for Music Production in Chile

I sell restored machines and hold Lathe Cut Camps a few times a year. The Sept one is sold out, but there is another in November with a couple spots left.

Re: Hi! I'm here because I can't ID this Aircastle vinyl lathe! Help!

That is just the generic GENERAL INDUSTRIES/Recordio /wilcox gay /etc home recording unit. They made a ton of them under different brand names and slightly different configurations, but most of them have a crystal cutterhead that will almost certainly not work unless it is re-crystalled and even the...

Just a reminder to everyone that calm, kind, non aggressive communication will get you the best results in this hobby. These are single person operations who have day jobs and personal lives. Not million employee corporations with support teams and 24/7 packing and shipping fulfillment centers. It’s...

I will text him. Just slow your roll. Your email may be going to his spam folder or something and he may not check IG (I certainly never do). I spoke to him a couple days ago and he was in there cutting records, so he hasn't gone anywhere. And he's been cutting records for people for at least a deca...

I reached out to the Fairchild on ebay guy about buying one of the belts and he told me no. :-(

I am also looking for a 750 belt. The 750-2 definitely has a flat belt, not a round belt.

Wide range of lathes for sale

I’ve made four gear dig trips around the country in the last six months and come back with a huge crusty pile of farm fresh lathes. Right now ive got Kris D down in Tucson helping me get a bunch of lathes back in working order. All of these can be built up custom to your needs… mono/stereo, diamond ...

If you have a machinist make one, i would be interested in buying one or two as well. You might also be able to buy some brass or aluminum tubing the correct size and jb wel a ball bearing in the end.

Re: I NEED HELP: Starting Non Profit Independent Recod Creation From Scratch (Pun Intended)

I second Bob's advice. You can do it cheap if you want, but at least pay yrself Burger King wages. For something like this, look around for local or state arts grants. I've been selling lathes to a fair number of people lately that have managed to get $10K in free money to buy a lathe if they submit...
