sketchup can export 3d models in dae or stl.
stl export through sketchup is not very good but with the basic version of netfabb it is really consistant.

wow...neuman like lathe... This is what I call a challenge.. Regarding vibration, have you tried to slice the nut screw in two ? I did that and it improved a bit... That said I strongly wonder what system is the better : a screw or transmission belt+pulley (like printers) I am myself in the neverend...

I am not sure this is a too big problem.
If you balance it with a equivalent weight on the other side of your recording arm I don't see why it should prevent you to work with it...

They look like totally suitable : diy_cutter used to build his own with 60w 8ohm....so it should worth to give it a try IMO
