Yes that's the thing I do know - that it's german and made by the company rudolf reim, possibly in the 1940s

What I am interested in is how a negative record sounds played back with a normal stylus - if there is any resemblance to the original audio, or if the needle simply skips...

but how does it sound when played back with a normal stylus?

I have similar discs from wilcox gay - my best guess is that is standard laquer, hardend over time.
I have also seen blue discs.
There is somewhere here a recipe for soften up old laquers....
