Re: Presto K8 Record Lathe problems:

What do you mean by dead needles? I got the tungsten needles fresh from a producer. Would you be able to help me repair the amplifier? You get what you pay for with the tungstens. And unless you are sure you are using the correct type of discs, you will get even less. I can restore the cutter head ...

Re: T560, Presto, Vortex...any suggestions?

Here you check Sillitoe lathe: https://www.sillitoeaudiotechnology.com/ I think its on pre-order phase but keep in mind that they aim to provide PRO system so price will be much more than VR. Yes, the price point is much higher but I am sure it works like a boss. Wish I had the extra bread to cop o...

Re: T560, Presto, Vortex...any suggestions?

soeffingodly, I don't want to emboss for the same reason - scratch. Regarding VR, I'm running mine with Technics SP 15, which is twice cheaper than SP 10 MK2 and works fine. I have both and worry my SP-15 will go haywire and start running backward. haha. Since the parent company doesn't exist anymo...

I'm using SP-15 and cutting loud and punchy hip-hop, so this one also works and cheaper than SP 10 MK2
I have both but SP-15's are known to go haywire and they have crazy chips that are not available anymore. That is why I upgraded when I got the chance.

Re: T560, Presto, Vortex...any suggestions?

Thanks for your info! Much appreciated. You had a 6n with the mono head/emboss, right? Or had you ever installed any stereo cutter on it? My question has to do with the result in sound quality between VR and 6n+stereo cutter...could we say it would ever sound same good? Regarding TKV on a facebook ...

Re: T560, Presto, Vortex...any suggestions?

Thanks both for your info. Actually I do like VR, but where is it...? Didn't hear the best things about Souri with whoever I contacted, so...no option for it:( 6n would be a good option, could install some elastic/plastic tube near the stylus connected with some vacuum or at least maybe a soft brus...

Re: T560, Presto, Vortex...any suggestions?

Vortex is a scam. Don't fall for it. Love my VR. But also loved my Presto 6N. Those stereo heads built by Konstantin Tokarev' are no joke. The only struggle is getting something set up for suction due to low clearance under the head. Far from impossible though. My vote would be either a VR or grab a...

Re: Things to look out for on a VR setup

Get a Technics SP-10 MKII for the turntable. 1200's just don't have the torque.

Are you in the US? If so he won't sell you some stuff and you'll need to buy it in the states. I can fill you in on what I needed to buy if you came from the US like I did.

all of you did not even buy anything from jonathan mejia you are just envious poor people who want to have their trade. Re: Advice ?? Mounting Turntable to base (T560)

The T560 has feet just like the plastic ones but they screw onto the base plate. Then you remove the plastic feet and place the 1200 on top and it slides into the foot slots. I wouldn't necessarily use that blueprint if you plan on using something like an SP-10 or SP-15 though. I just have my SP-15 ...

Hi soeffingodly , sorry for the late reply . Now i work at another version of the lathe , stil embossing . Can you tell me what is the diameter of the needle in the mounting area ? Now i use a 1.6 mm needle but i can modify the needle holder . I have a VR so the needle is different. (short versus l...
