@andybee - funny... Boom! vinylrecorder.com does actually list a 14" blank. So, I guess that with the precision plate and motor you could cut a 14" disc. The overhead mechanism certainly looks to be big enough. But as you have clearly covered the diamond is long. And, the RIAA correction would not b...

You crack me up!!!! This is a joke I hope you know. The device pictured is a laser based record player. It doesn't use a needle but rather a laser to read grooves. By no means does this device burn or write or cut grooves. Nor does it attach to a computer monitor via a dodgy cable as pictured here.....

Cut lacquer with vinylrecorder
I was wondering if it is possible to cut a lacquer with the Vinylrecorder system. I see that they say you can't. That it is a fire hazard (duh). I undertand that the recommendation is not to do it. But is it possible? Has anyone done this? What would you have to tweak to do this? I want to be able t...

Trying really hard to avoid a record player based system. I do not want wow and flutter.... Vinylrecorder has the precision motor and plate but they won't sell it to you with the initial system. They insist that you buy the record player based system and then wait. In the future you could buy the pr...

Plating polycarbonate/lexan
Hello all. Just curious if it is possible to plate lexan cuts? If you were to get a good cut from a diamond vinylium or vinylrecorder system could you have it plated and pressed? Can you only plate an acetate? As I understand it, vinylrecorder can't cut acetates. Or at least that is the recommendati...

The last one in mint condition went for 995 via a private site. http://www.bigdmc.com/imperial.htm It was listed on ebay as well but was pulled b/c seller sold via his own site. For a working unit is such nice condition I think 995 was fair. This one does not look as nice and does not have a playbac...

Well, I guess I'll be more specific. I'm in the midwest, USA. I would like something that will cut stereo. Somthing maybe like a Universal lathe or a Presto 6N with a stereo head mounted. Maybe a westrex or neumann or vinylium head. Amps would also be a treat. Around 15K without shipping. I understa...
