Re: PVC Recycling

I built one from mostly scrap steel, its not a precision tool, but it knocks out a label as fast as you can load it. Cost less than $1000 in pneumatic parts.

PVC regrind disposal

I have a bunch of granulated flash/records that is not suitable for pressing....as it has been contaminated by rain water or debris. Is there an industry that can repurpose it? I know that common pvc manufacturing wont touch compound containing tin as the stabilizer, but surely theres an alternative...

Re: PVC Recycling

I guess Im just paranoid about anything foreign damaging the stampers. Our granulator has a dust extraction arm but yeah, just was wondering if anyone out there goes to any length to clean up the re-grind...

Re: PVC Recycling

I have a question regarding re-grind....what is the preferred method of separating the super fine pvc and dust? Is it commonplace to wash the granulated flash? If so, how do you dry it?

Re: Bath Wars: watts vs barretts

The reason i ask is because a friend of mine is doing a similar diy galvanics setup. But he purchased chemicals for a watts bath using pure nickel annodes. Im wondering what the pros and cons might be for his electroforming.

Bath Wars: watts vs barretts

Ive been wondering about nickel galvanics... Im assuming everyone here is using a barretts type sulphamate bath with S or D annodes? Why did the plants of old switch over from the watts solution with pure nickel annodes? Was is cost? Or production quality? Or maybe even EPA guidelines? What are the ...

Hey guys just a quick question. What is the typical weight of a 7" (10" to be accurate) stamper when it comes off the laquer?

Re: DIY Plating Station

Hey guys, I've had a bit of a time out to rest my brain and get my life back on track, but I'm ready to rock again :) I have a question regarding the purity of distilled water. Specifically how close to 0ppm purity is acceptible? Ive recently built a solar still from a glass top table, which basical...

Re: DIY Plating Station

OK, I've given my rig a systems check with filtered water (minus the current). Mostly I wanted to measure the ideal volume for this set-up. No leaks, good filtration with a nice gentle flow onto substrate, temp controls are sweet, jig spins at 45rpm (can go faster or slower with speed controller) an...

Re: Extruder Temperature

Hi Bieber! Well, not your first post, the 30th one ;) As I remember from dismantling the ZYX Vinyl Factory, there are different Extruder screws available or possible. You will need a screw, that can feed more material at the same time. The basic principal of an extruder is, to generate the heat wit...
