Re: calibrate /configure T560

generally, I've found the VR setup to start distorting on high frequency info anywhere near 0dB to+3dB on the LED meter during the cut, depending on the source material. it's true it can cut higher than that, I just generally don't try to push it any further because I know it will distort. This sou...

Re: vertical treble issues on T560?

Theres no diff between treble in both channels. The main problem is that the level of the vertical channel is often much lower and distortion becomes more obvious therefore. Thats all. Im using a VR without any problems here, cuts are very good with low distortion (especially when comparing to press...

Re: Help with T560 vinyl recorder calibration

Then I would assume any kind of mechanical problem or some issues with the levels you are feeding your lathe or the measurement you are doing.
What is different to the setup you have used for training? May you should try to rewire everything?

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580

This continious rant here is so annoying (I suddenly remeber why I had ignored the forum in the last month).
Without Souri great work over the last 15 or more years no one would ever talk about cutting into PVC today. Its absolutley clueless to be so nitpicking without any serious alternative.

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580

Its always the same in this forum, most people talking the vinylrecorder or parts of it have no real clue. All vinylrecorders in the the classified comes with the standard head, not the feedback one as Sourido not sell them with the starter setup. His assumation are based on a theoretical discussion...

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580

Great news, finally one other plastic cutting solution will enter the market. Good for all. But we should not forget that it still has to prove itself over time. Souris lathe is just working like a charm (yes also with feedback heads, all professionel cutters here in germany use those afaik) since s...

Re: Help with T560 vinyl recorder calibration

Which value at pitch do you use? Setup should be very well documented in the papers you received with the lathe. Souri is right: the more you cut the more things getting clear. So cutcutcut! :D The forum really gets down I think. Its mostly about trying to promote the own business... BTW: I offer hi...

Re: starting a war here... (cutting on virgin vinyl related)

There are even people who sell their cuts to a fairly low price and reclaim theres also a separate mastering step included in the service. All for under 30 bucks and even without sitting in a solid listening environment. What they call "mastering" is just the same fixed pre-processing we all do to p...

Re: about lifetime of stylus (with vinyl recorder T560)

I had never said the 1200 is the ultimate solution for cutting. I just said its easily possible to cut without obvious wow/flutter even with loud cuts @ 9dB on Souris meter (even when I prefer a bit lower levels soundwise). Less rumble might be an advantage of course and Im for sure will try a bette...

hi JP. >Even that I use a normal 1200Mk2 (but in great shape it seems) for cutting I never has occur any sonical problems with wow/flutter or any of my clients mentioned something problems like this. I cut everything from jazz to folk to HipHop to electronic music. Much more important beside a good...

Re: about lifetime of stylus (with vinyl recorder T560)

Very interesting how different all those styles of working with the T560 are. For lowest noise and best sound quality possible I have to always cut with head lamp and stylus heating on (very carefully). But no. means not much as the difference of temp through the blank changed a lot when using the l...

Re: Looking for someone to master some tracks for vinyl

Hey Thomas, I run a full time, professional mastering studio in Berlin, Germany; hi end acoustics, monitoring and equipment. Im doing a lot of masterings for vinyl especially for some of the most respected vinyl cutting houses here. I dont master for that cheap of course, but prices depends on numbe...

Re: calibrate /configure T560

JP, usert560: Both of you are right at some points. Souri is a very nice guy, but don't deliver good customer service. Yes, he's bad at it. He lives in age of CD-Players (what?), he has no audio computer software probably. He can't help with most questions. And most questions remain unanswered. If ...

Re: calibrate /configure T560

After going crazy for 8 months in my studio and have cut 15 disks for fear of not getting it has broken a needle here and now wants to charge Souri needle repair. Now all this time I try to improve the machine without fuking mixer and splitters. I don't like the settings and connections and Souri n...
