Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580

Hey Guys, keep calm :D I own a Vinylrecorder from almost 3 years, cutting everyday with it as a full time job (beside mastering), and getting good quality cuts. I can tell you that a cutterhead based on tweeters like the Souri's one doesn't have the possibility to have a 100% trustabe feedback syste...

Re: Wanted Vinylrecorder T560-T580

Unfortunately the feedback head of the VR is a fake! No way to use feedback in the VR system, since this head design doesn't allow a proper feedback pick up. Souri just mounted an Ortofon concord on the cutterhead and pretend it is picking up the feedback of the the head. Mixing this signal the the ...

WTB: Mastering Transfer Console

Hello Guys, i am looking for a transfer console, either a 2 channels or a complete 4 channels one, custom build or marketed product. I would like it to have at least an elliptical filter and LP HP filters, for the rest i am open to various options. Ideally the Maselec MTC 1 has all the features i ne...

Vinyl Recorder stylus heating buzz noise

Hello Guys! Unfortunately this time i have to ask something to other VR users... Yesterday during a cut i saw that the speed of my external motor was not stable, having some "peaks" and could't get it working properly at 33 rpm turning the speed knob. It runs with the same PSU that drives the main u...

Re: starting a war here... (cutting on virgin vinyl related)

Well guys, i sincerely think the thread starter has no idea of what he is speaking about.... Pressed records are made of part of recycled vinyl and part of "pure" vinyl, so they are not vergin or whatever. What i cut (Myshank blancks) is PVC, and vinyl is PVC, so if i say that i cut on vinyl i am ri...

Re: starting a war here... (cutting on virgin vinyl related)

I know that most of PC and in general "plastics" are very near PVC's vinyl record formula, but that's still "plastic plates", not a blank pressed vinyl. Man, i just think you are very confused... PC and PVC are very different formulas, two different materials. For what i know, the only two persons ...

Re: starting a war here... (cutting on virgin vinyl related)

Hi sat1 I cut on real and virgin vinyl, do you what does means? I cut on PVC blanks, not pressed, but PVC (not PC, lexan macrolon...), this means that i cut on REAL VINYL. I don't write on my website to cut on pressed vinyl, i say to cut on vinyl, and that's true because vinyl and pvc are the same t...

Re: vinyl recorder with precision motor

I mean this screw in your last picture, abd of course the same one in the other side. I completely unscrewed them, so to have the bar keeping the head aside for the overhead structure. These screws have a corresponding hole in the part were they are attached, i have clean the holes and put grease in...

Re: vinyl recorder with precision motor

For what i know the oil should be changed at least one time per year in the dashpot, being open upside it is very easy to dust and dirt to go inside and make the pluger movement less fluid. When i had this issue i started recalibrating everything, starting from the axis between the overhead and the ...

Re: vinyl recorder with precision motor

I also had this issue, was a nightmare! At the end, after 2 weeks of panic and actually completely disassembling the whole vinyl recorder, the problem stoped, but i am still not sure about what was causing it. I think it is related to the dashpot somehow, but can be a mix of a not very free of movin...

Re: TCS pressing machine Italy

Try to ask to Phonopress (the only pressing plant still working in Italy) the should know about it.

Or you can try to ask to Elettroformati (mastering studio in Milan) or to Roberto Barbolini at cutterheadrepair (dot) com, they are also very informed about vinyl business in Italy.
