Re: Record cutting as composition / production
Yes I uesd that disc delay, I thinks there is no scene in one of the videos. But its very nice playing the trumpet and using the live delay as a second voice. Its limited because you have just one fixed "short" delay time because the tonearm is fix. You can use another groove to get longer ones but ...

Re: Record cutting as composition / production
So, continuous cuts as in locked grooves rather than cutting over existing grooves right? Yes I cut on blanks with no grooves on it ... In most cases I start the cut as a continous cut and end the cut at a specific cue point to have a nice loop. If I want a off center recordds its like symatic wrot...

Re: Record cutting as composition / production
I have a live performance disc cutting project called "SCHNITT" which is working with live cutting and reproduction. I use loops as well as continuous cuts and layer them with the performance. We used that method also for the production of our record (there will be a new one released shortly) I cut ...

live cutting with new VR mobile setup
I bought a new vinylrecorder mainly for my mobile live/performance "SCHNITT" ( http://schnitt.bandcamp.com/ ). I perform together with markus who is playing several instruments and I cut live to disc which I play back in the live perfomance : http://www.duophonic.de/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Schnit...

Re: Dissappearing grooves!
perhaps its your damping. the little metal disc should sit completly in the oil, without air bubbles. the head is a little stiffer than and can not jump so easy. you need 15- 20 grams then.
good luck

Re: Need turntable opinions, please.
I have checked the manuals of both sp10 and sp15 . the sp10 has 5 kg/cm and the sp15 2.5 kg/cm torque. Also the bearings and the motor of the sp15 looks more like a 1210.

Re: Need turntable opinions, please.
I have a technics sp10 installed for my vinylrecorder . Its perfect for cutting because of the perfect bearing and the high torgue . The wow and flutter is 0,01% or 1 Hz that is very good . I think the Sp15 is ok. but not so strong like a sp10 . I would wait getting a Sp10.

Re: Chip Tube Alignment
I had the same problem some weeks ago. you are using apollos right? witch batch number? I can check on monday in the office if they are the same... I checked everything like you , with the same frustrating results. the only thing that helped was using a new box of transcos. now everything is working...

NO!. It has to be TTL level: a digital pulse 0 to +5 volts. OK, I now put a transformer between my Motor control device and the Sync input of the motherboard to get the TTL level. But what happened now is the the white light don´t change its status every 1.8 sec ( at 33,3rpm) as it was before but e...

You'll find an orange or orange/white striped wire that runs from a terminal strip in the power supply to the underside of the motherboard. Detach the power supply end of this wire and connect to a TTL level 60Hz frequency source. You can Google for crystal derived 60Hz clock circuit to use for thi...
