Re: $10.00 new cutting needles ebay

Hey guys, Well, it has been over a year and half since I began selling my cutting needles on ebay. At first it was trial and error, but now with over 400 plus needles sold with them still at $10 each (with an exception or my newer site on ebay for Tungsten cone needles for $15 each), I must say it h...

Re: testing Jerry's steel cone styli

Those grooves look nice! Promising. I have made some improvements since my first batch of cone needles in steel. They are more smooth, and since my PR man, Mike, has been using lighter fluid (Ronsonol in the yellow bottle) to prep the polycarbonate discs that removes gunk from the peel away plastic...

Re: testing Jerry's steel cone styli

About my needles. A member of Lathetrolls provided the following: " Did he order the triangles? Sapphires do, and always will, blow anybody's steel needles out of the water. You aren't providing a substitute for $100 sapphires.. you are providing a LOW COST alternative for people to experiment with....

Re: testing Jerry's steel cone styli

Hey Sergey, Thanks for your response to my steel needles. I am constantly experimenting with my steel, and I continue to improve by making them smoother around the tip and the right cone angle all through. It sounds like you have had good results with my needles, but you seem to lean towards sapphir...

Re: $10.00 new cutting needles ebay

The cone ones are used for embossing; the triangle is for lacquer and they both are the slim shank like for Presto cutters, etc.

Re: $10.00 new cutting needles ebay

Thanks so much for your reply! Yes I have been selling needles on ebay and doing quite well. I have sold them in the US, Mexico, Ireland, UK, France, Italy, Russia, etc. I am getting good feedback from them, with little complaints. However, I make it right with a customer who may be having some trou...

Re: $10.00 new cutting needles ebay

Whoops I made a mistake about who I was writing to.

Anyhow, I consulted Mike and he suggests that I make the cone needles with a flat side on the shank from now on. This will provide more stability when cutting. Of course the triangular ones already have a flat side.

Wilcox Recordette

I did hear from Gib at West-Tech and he said: "We do not work on these units anymore because of their design and poor quality. They never cut correctly." I guess I bought the wrong machine but it still would be fun to mess around with it and get it to work. I did see a video on Utube where this guy ...

Wilcox-Gay Recordette

I just bought a Wilcox-Gay Recordette on ebay that I knew did not work. Another dealer on ebay is supplying me the vacuum tubes that will arrive in a few days and I hope this is the problem. Anyhow, I need some cutting and play-back needles and I was wondering where I could buy them.

Thanks Pals!

Re: new here...Recordette Sr. lead screw disengage?

I have a Wilcox-Gay Recordette I bought a couple of weeks ago on ebay. I knew it didn't work when I bought it. I found a dealer on ebay that has the vacuum tubes for it and I am waiting on them. I would like to know where I could get the cutting and play needles for it?

Thanks
