NEEDED: AMBEROLA REPAIRMAN IN LINCOLN OR OMAHA, NEBRASKA

Hey there, Gang-- I just thought I would toss this out-- I have an Amberola 50 that is in bad need of repair...BUT, I don't want to have to send it halfway across the country to have it done. (I CAN...I have a connection...but he lives in Ohio...*sigh*) But...if I can find ANYONE in the Lincoln or O...

Re: NOS Presto blanks

Well... If it means anything... A friend of mine did have some Prestos that, a couple of years ago, he had cut for me--he put a classic radio program on them for me, and they turned out fairly well...I still play them...so, there could be schools on both that they're ok and not ok... I guess it woul...

looking for label/jacket designer

Hi, gang-- Sometime this year, we are going to launch our new label...mostly 78 RPM releases of newly-recorded material... But, we need to have someone in our court who is able to be our official "Graphic Designer" for labels and jackets. They would need to be able to take my rough draft ideas and t...

NOS Presto blanks

Hey there--
Does anyone have any NOS Presto blanks they wouldn't mind selling..?
I'm wanting to do a recording project, and the old Prestos have a nice "swish" sound to them in playback...it will make the recording sound "older" than what it truly is...

Graphic Artist for making record labels/jackets needed

Hey there-- It's been a long while since I've been here...and it's good to be back! This year, I am looking to launch a new label (Echo Records)...vinyl releases only...and 90% of our output will be 78 rpm. I am in desperate need of someone who can step-in as our new graphic artist and take my rough...

"New" (old) blanks needed...

Ok... this may be a long-shot... but, does anyone have any old (but usable) Presto blanks..? They can be 10 or 12", doesn't matter. The reason I'm asking is -- a friend of mine gave me a project he had done recently, and he used a few old Prestos he had lying around...and the "surface noise" that re...

laminated discs...

Hey there, Gang-- Has anyone tried taking posterboard, running it thru a laminator, and then cutting grooves on it..? The process would be a lot like the old Capitol home recording discs or better yet, the Recordio cardboard discs... Would this be a cheap (inexpensive) way to make "home-recording" q...

LOL--Well, believe it or not...I was actually thinking about posterboard (the type you can buy at WalMart in various colours),cut into 10" circles, and run thru a laminator... I had done this once before...and the guy I had wanted to do the cutting for me initially tried a test cut, but had said the...

laminated cardboard discs...

I have a question-- Would anyone here like to do some cuttings for me if I were to provide some 10" cardboard laminated discs..? I know already how the final results will sound -- lots of surface noise...almost as if they were recorded back in the early 1900's. That's what I'm after. If they can be ...

Well, while we're at it...
Does anyone have 78's made in the early-mid 1920's and released on the "Pathe" label..?

I can remember, tho -- My grandfather had one of those vintage portable cutters with the radio built-in, and he used to go thru tons of those Recordio/Wilcox-Gay discs recording his favorite radio programs from back in the 1940's... I used to listen to them as a kid, and that's why I have a love for...

Yeah...we had thought about the "cut and glue" option...but I'm at the age now where my hands aren't the most steady...and it is basically a one-person operation by the time all the material comes back here to me! So...this is why I would need something good--but simple. Perhaps the size of the phot...

Laserprinting record jackets

I really hope someone here can help out... Recently, we debuted Essency Records...our 1st issue is ready for distribution right now. We had our record jackets printed at a place that can only do a screenprint process--which means a basic black & white, and any photographs used are reproduced in the ...

Hey guys--I need a vinyl-cutter...

some people will say I'm nuts for asking, but I really don't care:
I'm looking for someone to transfer some CD's direct-to-vinyl.
Normally, I would ask for an acetate one-off...but a vinyl copy would be longer-lasting.
Could someone help out (and hopefully not break the bank?)
