Re: Cutting acetate blank on T560
you can definitely do it! do you have just a single acetate? or do you have some scraps around for testing?
I would suggest doing a few tests to dial in the right head weight and angle for the acetate vs your usual plastic settings.

Re: Anyone know any <200 turntables with lots of torque?
I'm sure it's been brought up but just for clarity here - the numbers most manufacturers are posting are for starting torque. Running torque, especially at the outer edge is much less usually. I tried cutting with a Reloop RP7000MK2 which lists a top torque of 4.5 kg/cm it only worked within the 7in...

Re: Any small run pressing plants in the USA?
I used Vinyl RP in Jacksonville for 100 copies pressed. New Orleans Record Pressing does small runs too.
I think a lot of the newer plants, that I'm assuming run two Warmtones, or NewBuilts, etc, are into the smaller runs.
editing to say I love Musicol too, they were just previously mentioned

Re: Professional vinyl record lathe step by step
base ? I like to break lathes down to three over-arching sections. 1. turntable - spins the blank, must be very high running torque, usually heavy platter 2. overhead/pitch system - moves the cutting head across the disc, either fixed pitch or automatic varied pitch with computer 3. audio path - th...

Re: 5 in blank discs?
This may sound off the wall. The lids from butter tubs and similar packaging can work. I used them when I started experimenting. I don't remember if I cut or embossed but it came out with hardly anybsurfafe noise. And this was with lo fi equipment. Ask at a deli in a store. The stuff they put out c...

I would double check that the blanks are as near to flat as possible.
with embossing, a change in depth is usually the cause for that type of noise
