Re: weird extruder problem,help

You have burned the vinyl. Is this new or 100% recycled? Follow Martin’s advice above. The extruded vinyl should be shiny and you should be able to leave a fingerprint on it.

Is that a 16 inch platter? No vacuum?
No vacuum. The knurled knob on the spindle screws down to hold the lacquer If I remember correctly, this has a left hand bread.

Re: Record Pressing Engineering Handbook

Unfortunately, nobody ever wrote such a book. The larger record manufacturers of the day developed a lot of the technology and processes in-house and these were well protected "trade secrets". A PolyGram technical manual states that the document is for limited distribution "lest it falls into the wr...

Re: help wanted with project/vintage acetate blanks

I have 30 year old lacquer discs and I would never think of putting a stylus anywhere near them. Perhaps an Audiodisc or an Emidisc label on a fresh lacquer could give the same end result unless ofcourse your are making a counterfeit Beatles acetate that can sell for tens of thousands of dollars.

Do NOT use Paypal - as Misjah said, the buyer can claim it's the wrong product or not working and you will lose your money. Here's how it usually works.... the buyer sends the money and then you send the goods. The general rule is that you do DON'T send anything until the money is in your bank accou...
