Considering sale of my ATOM A101

I am considering selling my ATOM A101 record lathe. I bought it initially from a reputable seller in Tel Aviv who made sure all the belts were changed before I received and everything well lubricated and cleaned. I actually cut 100, 33 records, A and B sides and sold all of them at an art space in C...

Re: Vanrock E-101 Record Cutter for sale

Did you ever end up selling it? Your last offer was the best I have seen so far with most going for approx. 3K. I will be putting mine on the market soon and it is in fine condition as well and comes with two MyShank synthetic diamond styli. I would super surprised if that lathe did not sell. If I d...

Terrible Re: ebay scams be careful!

I feel really bad for those who were ripped off. That is simply the worst thing I have heard yet. I can't even imagine and I hope you can go after him and get some justice on this. That is a lot of money to cheated of.

Re: ebay scams be careful!

I purchased a new transformer to step down to 100 - but I have not validated the output of the transformer itself as it was new. All lights come on when I power up and the platter does move into and out of position as I move from Standing to Forward to Recording and End. I don't hear a faint sound f...

Re: Atom A-101 7" lathe

Does anyone out there have a schematic for the ATOM A101? I am going to try to see if a local electronics place can find out what is the issue with the one I purchased. Then if I decide to sell rather than invest more - I can say what exactly is wrong with it. Right now, the platter does not spin. O...

No motor function Re: ebay scams be careful!

I bought an ATOM 101 from misterinspace <kalbat_jq5896rio@members.ebay.co.uk> over 90 days ago. As the time is over 90 days I can cannot contact the seller and that ID is no longer on eBay. It looked pristine and the seller seemed very knowledgeable and decent. However, after doing my reading, buyin...

ATOM101 platter not spinning

I am a newbie and over 90 days ago I purchased an ATOM101 from ebay and the seller seemed decent and the lathe arrived in pristine condition. I wanted to get a good diamond needle, a step down transformer from 120V to Japanese 100 and do some reading on it before I tried my first cut. When I tried m...

Hey AL! Thanks so much for your post. Can you refer me to a US source for PolyCarb blanks. The shipping from France is a killer. Thanks - Jer

Source for polycarb 3mm CNC'd blanks

I have seen some posts of folks who had sources for CNC'd round blanks but YEARS ago. I am about to order some 7" pvc blanks and a diamond needle at MyShank - but with shipping it is a killer. I want to try embossing using tungsten cones but I need polycarb blanks for this. Anyone have any updated s...

Re: Vanrock/Atom + Manual (was Hello from Tokyo!)

I am replying to this post because the images of the Vanrock (Atom) 101 lathe user manual were not view-able. This request has probably been made before, and replied to - and I apologize if that is that case - but can anyone point me to getting a copy or a pdf to the lathe user manual? I would very ...

I am a musician and visual artist and I love doing graphic packaging of music. I love that is so much more tangible. I want to be able to offer limited runs of a pieces and package them so each is a unique piece of art. Would an ATOM A101 be a good place for me to start my learning of recording lath...

Re: Welcome, Newbies! Say Hi in this thread!

Hello All! I am a musician and visual artist who cannot really embrace streaming music. I know CDs are history but I love to be able to hold a CD photo of Irish fiddler Padraig O'Keefe while listening to him playing The Woman of the House or reading the insert of tunings used by Dick Gaughan on one ...
