I have friends from Argentina who chuckle when someone puts a female article in front of a male noun, like La Hombre.
As if the subject has bended from gender

Re: Clicks & Pops VR issue / not on playback
Totally, it's a possibility! In my case it was static, during winter time, my place is very dry and it was causing clicks during playback but only when I was actually cutting and monitoring Since i now live at the bottom of the ocean and transformed into a mermaid, there's no more problem with that...

Re: Clicks & Pops VR issue / not on playback
Very old topic, but I like to reply that tics and pops can be a clock problem of your d/a converter / interface not communicating properly with your computer.
I had this problem once. Very difficult to track.

Re: VR with Technics SP10 MkII : Max Weight stylus
The main reason why I stepped into this new turntable project is, not so much the wow problem. The main reason was a constant recurrence of swarf issues, the last months. After having tried everything, I noticed when I increased the weight of the stylus, swarf issues disappeared. Only on the 1200 MK...

Re: VR with Technics SP10 MkII : Max Weight stylus
As a side note:
I've placed the SP10 MKII under the VR.
I was expecting a difference in height (compared with the 1200 MKII, but it's almost exactly the same. About 9.2 cm.
The rubber mat which came with the SP10 MKII is quite thick though.

Re: Vinyl Optimiser - Ableton rack / chain
For my IRIAA i used (with a lot of help from Mark Rob!) Fabfilter Q3 to EQ match. I used program material, an audio loop i made with a fairly good tonal balance, covering the full spectrum, then sent around +2db on the meter (but make sure your playback is 100% calibrated! i use the 'Ultimate Analo...

Re: Technics SP-10 mkII : Max Weight stylus
The run out on a SP10 is significantly less than say a 1210, but the precision plate is always good, there’s plenty of torque so if you can afford one, I’d go for it. It isn’t essential, you can get great cuts without it, but for sure it will help even the tiniest amount of run out. In terms of oth...

Re: Technics SP-10 mkII : Max Weight stylus
Yeah since I used the SP10 MKII it changed everything, so many noise issues have gone, +10db cuts on 12"! Cutting right from the edge ;) I read there should be some adjustments done. Can you tell me which? Just minor ones? I read some people use a precisionplate in conjunction with the sp10 mkii. I...

Thanks. Cutting will be so much easier then. Should have exchanged the tables long before.

Re: Way back when...
Ha! Bet it went like a train... It's true we were moved by it! Here's another picture of me, in the studio, with Hans, Silvia and some others (forgot their names, sorry). In order to create a rich timbre, we needed to manually handcrank each separate oscillator (called messgenerator at the time). I...

Re: Technics SP-10 mkII : Max Weight stylus
Thank you sir!
But I'm afraid I'm more the simple type... tried to pull the torque with 5kg per cm, but the pick up seems to keep slipping from the table.

VR with Technics SP10 MkII : Max Weight stylus
I recently bought a Technics SP-10 mkII to hopefully finally get rid of the wow problems I'm having with specific music (vinylrecorder). Now waiting for the table to arrive. Can anyone tell me on forehand how much weight I can give maximum at the stylus in order to stay free from wow issues? I vague...

Re: Cleaning records
Use distilled water to rinse them. The 'dried up waterdrops' you're left with are more than likely the minerals in your tap water. I've used demi water instead of distilled (I couldn't buy distilled in a normal store) but, although it looks great, the record has now audible crackles. Did you specif...

Cleaning records
After cutting I rinse my records with luke warm water and leave them to dry in a rack. This gives a scratchless clean result, apart from a few dried up waterdrops. This last thing still bothers me.
Can anyone tell me how I can avoid this, without having to use a time consuming okki nokki?
