Re: Right channel cutting funny/fuzzy randomly

This may have been from green or wet lacquers… I stacked a couple boxes of lacquers on open spindles and let them air out for a few days and the problem has gone away…. For now…. lol

Right channel cutting funny/fuzzy randomly

I’m having an issue with the right groove wall (outer) and it’s becoming fuzzy and grainy at times, it’s almost like it drifts in and out or comes and goes, I’ve replaced a bunch of styli (NSH-2S) and I’m getting no consistent results, increase/decrease heat doesn’t make much difference, unless I re...

Re: VMS70/SX74/VG74B Overload when lowering head

I've spent a lot of time looking at and working the leaf switch, it appears to be functioning properly... I also checked the contacts on the connector cable you mentioned, everything contact is passing I talked to Chis Muth and he thinks it may be the right feedback coil in the cutting head, he sugg...

Record Labels

Hi everyone, I'm looking for information about label paper stock, what type of paper are you using? All local printers I've talked to are stumped, I know there are certain requirements due to the heat and pressure of the press as well as the baking required for drying the ink, but that's where my kn...

A couple of VMS 70 Questions

Hi everyone! I've been running a VMS 70 for a couple years now, it came with a few extra belts for the pitch computer. But now I need some new ones, both the long and short rubber drive belt in the pitch drive unit, where would I find these? Any leads would be great. Also, a few months ago the auto ...

Re: Neumann VMS 70 price?

Yes, trouble with the stylus was mostly user error and inexperience. I am unaware of the price of that machine. It's difficult to price out a machine like this, it's worth as much as anyone wants to pay for it, I understand that. I'd like to open the discussion and see what the community values thes...

Neumann VMS 70 price?

Hi everyone,
I have the opportunity to buy a recently commissioned and operational Neumann VMS70, with the VG 74B amp rack, SX74 cutting head and Technics SP-02.
It is really hard to get a ballpark on a value for this machine, any input would be helpful.

Re: Volume for programmer calibration

When I send at "0"VU, the first adjustment on the "LL" control is fine, but when I send the out of phase signal to adjust my "v" at "0" the groove completely disappears in the narrowest point, even with its set completely clockwise (at any position for that matter) I have a feeling that my "0" VU mi...

Volume for programmer calibration

I'm calibrating my program modules for my Neumann, I get it, it's fairly straight forward when you follow the manual. But the manual doesn't say what volume to send the 200htz at, sending at "0" would be over kill wouldn't it? Any recommendations?
